GR 5-6 SHIFT is where pre-teens connect and grow, WKC-style…

WHEN

Sunday’s 9:29 am & 11:11 am
We start each celebration weekend participating with worship in the West Hall. At coffee break, we move to hang out in the Hospitality Suite, to play games and think about real-life questions… Is God real? Does He still create? Why do bad things happen to good people? … Questions which prompt significant conversation and through healthy peer and leader relationships we experience God working.

VOLUNTEERS

Interested in serving with our Gr 5-6s, plan to attend an information evening that will explain our vision, mission and purpose… Serve opportunities are custom fit to your gift (what you love to do), your passion (the age group you most enjoy being with), and your availability… Serve monthly, bi-weekly, weekly.

Student Participation forms available in East Hall… Students (Gr 5+) may serve in a preschool class without a parent, while Students under Gr 5 must serve with accompanied by a parent.

Simply complete the forms, and return them to East Hall or bring them completed to new volunteer orientation / child protection plan training date of your choice (see below)…

SCREENING & SECURITY PROCESS

It is required that all volunteers be fully screened and attend a child protection plan training that will equip them to give their best to God through the kids.

FAMILY CONNECTION OPPORTUNITIES

Our vision for strong families starts by helping them connect and share the journey with others. We have a number of ways to help people connect:

LEGACY PARENTING EVENT – November 20 is a special ‘parent-day’ for SHIFT kids and their parents to share a faith experience together. Following Worship in West Hall, SHIFT kids & parents will gather in the new Bistro for the remainder of the celebration hour. Our purpose is to equip our families with faith tools and resources to aid them in building spiritual legacies. Don’t miss our special guest from the Mustard Seed and your opportunity to make a difference for those less fortunate.

PIZZA AND GAMES NIGHT
When: Friday, Nov 4 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Who: All Grade 5 & 6 students and their families (parents and siblings) are invited. SHIFT students are welcome to come with or without their parents.
