Spring is here, summer is just around the corner and our facility needs some TLC. We are looking for volunteers to join us in some much needed cleaning, gardening, and painting projects.

If you could lend some time and elbow grease it would be greatly appreciated as we get our lawn and grounds ready for summer activities.

Don and Hope Fleming, Calgary Chapter Directors, will be here to share information on this transformational life changing service opportunity.

Under the direction of PFC, volunteer teams or pairs lead Bible studies in correctional institutions located north of the Calgary city limits.

Bible studies can be devotional or delivered through a program such as Alpha. Alpha in prison is a Bible study that emulates Alpha as you would see it operating in churches. This well-developed and delivered Bible study allows interested inmates to go beyond theological basics and develop a knowledge, love and acceptance of Jesus Christ.

Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday, April 1. On Tuesday April 3 and Wednesday, April 4, we present the Stations of the Cross in the Westhall (9 am to 9 pm). Join us for a guided and prayerful meditation of Jesus’ sufferings on our behalf.

Don’t miss these central moments in the Christian year.

Serve Global Information Night and Spaghetti Fundraiser. Join us for an evening of inspiration, encouragement and information.

Cost of ticket is by donation. All donations are in support of the 2012 WKC Youth Mission Trip.

Ash Wednesday (February 22) marks the beginning of Lent, the six- week season which concludes at Easter (April 8).

This may not seem like a way to gather a crowd, but we want to mark you with ashes, symbolizing our sin and mortality. We believe in this ancient Christian symbol because of what it helps us understand. For as we mark ourselves in this way, we prepare ourselves to better see the wonder, the surprise, even the shock of what Jesus brings to us. We best understand this by journeying through a whole season — the season we call Lent.

This year we invite the whole community of Westside to experience the power of the Lenten season by marking a 40 minute event on Wednesday, February 22, at 7:10 pm (finished by 7:50 pm). We invite families to come with their children, friends to come in groups — everyone! We will give a brief teaching on how to enrich this season, give you a devotional exercise for Lent, and send you off with the marking of ashes.

Getreallive is pleased to host Chef Andre, who is widely known for his work with Kathy Ireland on developing healthy food solutions. Most recently he has contributed to Janet Jackson’s best selling book ‘True You’ with his life changing food creations. He has also been featured on The TODAY show, Access Hollywood, EXTRA and more.
